Overall Conclusion

Now that all of us have finally finished our presentation, we are ready to conclude our project. It was sometimes hard to do interviews, to explain and analyze our topics on our blog and in our interviews. However we successfully created what we think is a very good blog and conducted many interesting and useful interviews. We have developed our skills with technology; for example we think we are now much better at using a video camera, at editing video clips, at producing an impressing power point presentation and at creating a blog. We learnt a lot of things not only about the themes of Pinocchio Project but also about English customs and culture living here for 3 weeks.
We would live to thank our teachers who helped us with the project, the people we interviewed and our classmate Vincenzo, who has made a wonderful documentary of our project in Oxford: without his technical expertise we would have been lost!
So thank you all for your attention and we hope you have enjoyed our project!

Let's sum up: lying, honesty and naivety

CONCLUSION
We fell we’ve learnt a lot of things about human psychology thanks to this project. We’ve come across many different personalities and have found that people can be quite sensitive when if comes to admitting whether or not they think they are liars, if they are honest and if they think they can be naïve.
We did run into many difficulties and we had to work very hard to finish every thing on time. As if that wasn’t enough the computer turned again us as well, being so slow that we had wait exhaustingly for each word we wrote. Fortunately Jacky come to the aid of us many times and so we thanks her sincerely. It was surprising to find out 40% of people do not think to be liars; how do interpret this? We daresay it’s our unconscious will of not thinking of it or of not recognizing it, that’s worst.
It’s rather strange 10% stated they’re not liars, and all of them answered to the next question “when do you lie? ”. If you’re not you shouldn’t answer. Still you disturbing id to discover 25% of young people don’t believe in friendship and would be able to injure a friend if necessary..
It’s also compelling to know that most people do feel guilty after lied; that’s appreciable but it mustn’t justify (unless you believe in the statement THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS). Well, concluding the speech, if people were so honest as they profess to be, life on the Earth would be just better for sure.. It’s not utopian but quite unreal, you know..

A crazy interview

Senior citizens

It is very important to explain the reason why we did chose this specific category and it is that we wanted to work out an out coming of their lives.

We are sorry we couldn't interview enough people belonging to this category, to make any graph or statistic. Because of this we are obliged to report merely the answers of the interview.

Liar=no Honest=yes Naive=no

No (But it's human!) May be you don't know me..

Yes, I've hidden many things to my parents, I must confess..

I prefer much more the way I'm now rather than before, because when one lies always runs the risk of being found out..

First of all is important to be honest towards ourselves because otherwise you cannot be honest toward other people. Lies aren't to be said

I think I've never done anything dishonest.. well... speeding by car..

Not at all. Dishonest people go to jail.

Of course they're not the same! Look at map on the dictionary!

And what about teachers?

TEACHERS

Talking about Honesty just a little part of teacher state to be honest to their pupils, because it's a part of their personality.. But almost 80% declare to be not able to be completely honest because of several causes: someone is afraid to be disappointed by others' behavior, one said that encourages his pupils pretending to be satisfied with their works also when he's not.
A graph about teachers' naivety is avoidable because everybody is to be considered absolutely naive towards his pupils.
Someone said that hopefully he is not, but he actually is. Someone else admitted it and that is bitterly sad to be continuously disappointed and angry at their pupils, after he trusts them.

In spite of being quite sorry of the results and of the unreliability of their students, very seldom teachers would like to change their way of teaching. This could mean they don't think that the problem is their way of teaching or something wrong they do, but it is the pupils' behavior.

This graph talks for itself.. That 17% thinks that betrayed is too much, they prefer to consider students' lies as little excuses, so they can't feel betrayed but merely they were pulling their legs..
Surprisingly only one interviewed teacher said he' s not a liar, while the other ones judge themselves pretty good liars, explaining that sometimes it's necessary for diplomatic reasons.. which made us laugh.. but the most unexpected answer was: "lying nowadays is the driving force of life!!!"

It's foolish turning around it.. we students are chronic liars!!

teenagers judge themselves

Let's sum up
PEOPLE JUDGE THEMSELVES:
