3rd September 2007
Let's start our adventure! After a comfortable rest we're ready to immerse ourselves in English culture;in fact this is our first day in Oxford. We were nervous about catching bus all alone in a new and foreign city but we did it quite well! ;p
So,looking everywhere hoping to see a friendly face,we all met in front of the school and we visited it with our smiling teacher Haroon. We also had a placement test (poor Haroon!!!He'll have to correct it...). Luckily Haroon took us around the historical center of Oxford. Crossing Magdalen Street we arrived in Cornmarket Street, full of every kind of shop. Turning left we found High Street where we saw the Radcliffe Camera from the outsideand we visited the interesting University Church; In it we saw the marvelous exhibition called Italy's Three Crowns about manuscript and printed form collections of Italian Literary works. In a very quickly way we also visited Christ Church Cathedral and then we finally came back to school for the afternoon lesson. At 6 o'clock pm we were back home for dinner with our host families (How it's hard to get us used to English food!!!). At 7.30 pm we all met in front of Odeon cinema for a walk in the Saint Giles Fair: what a lot of people! Finally, less nervous then in the morning,we caught the bus to come back home... WE SURVIVED ON OUR FIRST DAY!!!

I think you had a good start to your week, and it sounds as if you are trying hard to adapt to England and English culture. I hope you will survive the whole three weeks as well as you managed the first day.
