Yesterday we wanted to go to a pub, but unfortunately we discovered that here is IMPOSSIBLE for us poor 17-year-old to go in!!!!!!!! We tried to enter in about 5 different pubs and we always heard the same answer: "Sorry, you're too young! You can't enter in!".. It's strange for us, because in Italy we can go wherever we want and we can also buy alcoholic drinks even if we aren't of age... we think that it's ridiculous, here there's an excessive control of the under agers... RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately the laws in Britain are quite strict. The pubs are allowed to let you in under 18 but they aren't allowed to let you drink alcohol or they can lose their license. Unfortunately there are lots of under-18s who try to order alcohol in pubs or get people to buy it for them so pubs in Oxford are mostly very very strict about letting you in now.
But next week we have a pub night organsised for you that IS OK for under-18s as long as you have your Italian ID cards on you and as long as you don't try to drink alcohol.
