Mission interviews: Regret

Here we are! We have finally finished our interviews about regret! It was very difficult to find people who wanted to talk with us...but we reached our mission!!! We asked them few questions to know what people think, we interviewed several kinds of people of different age and in the end we discussed our topic with the vicar Hugh Lee of the Saint Michael's Church to know his religious point of view.

Here are our questions to the general public:

1. Have you ever done anything you regret?
2. Do you think everybody regrets something?
3. How do you feel when you regret something?
4. Do you believe in destiny?
· If you believe in it, do you have any regrets? 5. What is your biggest regret about?

Work
1.
What’s your job?
2. Do you like it or you would have had another one?
3. Have you ever lost any good opportunity? (Why?)
4. Have you ever had a job you didn’t like? (What kind of job?)

Family
1. Have you got a family?
· Do you think you gave more importance to your work than to your family?
· Do you regret it?

Other relationships
1.
Have you got many friends?
· Do you regret this?
· Have you ever done something you regret to your friends or relatives?

Here are their answers:

1. Everybody regrets something:
"Yes,of course!That is life!"

2.

3.

4.

  • Most people believe that destiny and regret are linked. We think that it's very difficult to answer to this question... So almost everybody hesitated to answer, but some of them think that God is the maker of the destiny and can forgive every mistake.

5.

Work

Almost everybody lost a good opportunity about work and somebody wold have done another job and regret it.

"I lost some good opportunities about my studies."
"When i was very young I did a part-time job that I didn't like."

Family

Only somebody regrets something about family but gives more importance to it than to the work.

"I argued with my parents a lot of times... but now all's well!!!"

Other relationships

All the interviewed people have a lot of friends even if they have some regrets about them though these aren't very big.

"I regret that I told lies to my friends and argued with them."

It was wery difficult to interview people in the street because it was the first time for us and not everybody really wanted to speak to us... From our research we found out that it's impossible not to have any regret because everybody does something wrong in their life and perhaps it's only if you don't have a conscience that you don't regret anything.

Good questions, and you have put in a few graphs now to show some of their answers. But get this finished as soon as you can, and don't forget to add some of your own comments on their answers - are you surprised by what people had to say or not? Do youn think people in Italy would feel the same way about regret?
