Last friday we interviewed Eckersley students about the theme of regret.
We think that the questions we did were very personal, so it was difficult to ask things about their lives; but luckily the students were kind! Obviously every student regretted something: some about the family, some about the friends, some about studies. They all told us they feel bad when they regret: some can't sleep, some others feel sad (We feel bad too...). The most difficult question to answer was the one about the link between regret and destiny: most of the students believes in it, so they think what they regret would had happened because of the destiny.
In the afternoon we watched "AI Artificial Intelligence"...it was very interesting because it was linked to our project about Pinocchio:the main character, the robot-boy, wished to become a real boy like Pinocchio,so he serched for the Blue Fairy. But...our biggest regret is to have watched it!!! The ending was disappointing because it was too long and very strange and boring (There were the aliens too...).

I agree that the end of AI is rather long and a bit disappointing. But I quite like the aliens.
Do you think any of the characters in the story of AI would have any regrets? Such as the mother? or the father? or the man who invented these robots like David? Do you think a robot that was made to love would also have some regrets?
And what do you think about destiny? Do you believe that things you regret could have been different or do you believe it was just destiny that it turned out as it did? A very philosophical question!
