Introduction
Yesterday, 11th September, we started our "raid on the road", unaware of what was going to occur to us..
Hopefully we found the proper place to stay and to catch our prey..
It was devastating!!Almost ten people, obviously english, passed by without answering yes or no to my easy question -Would you like to answer a few questions?Just a few minutes!Please..-
These were the worst cases.. When we were lucky they answered no at least or avoided us seeing the videocamera or listened to what the project consisted of.. and then said no..
After the eleventh attempt a whole family stopped, but they were revealed to be the hardest people to interview..The family man made up his own questions and then answered them and didn't let me talk at all!.His daughter interrupted me continously as well and I had to fight to manage to say something.....
Then we were much more lucky and we got to interview three young Chilean boys who took it very seriously. And finally a middle aged man stopped, he himself asking to be interviewed!

Answers

The first question left everybody perplexed..our impression was that most of them were scared by answering, so they said impulsively: No, I don't.Ehm..sometimes..
This guys ended up to be by far the worst liars..
Inspite of this 49% confesses to be a liar. Creditable..
Concluded that everybody lies, although someone kept on denying, we found out when they did lie. 42% said they lie just when it's necessary, for example to avoid hurting someone or to hide something they did wrong; while 29% explained they lie only to hide foolish thing or to have fun with friends. "It depends" is a very vague answer and so.. it's open to interpretation."How often?" has got a wide assortment of answers:
43% said -not so much or seldom-
42% said -often or very often- A boy even said..Three times a week!!And we would like him to explain further this answer..
15% said simply -sometimes-
Parents are the most favourite teens' butt (JUST AFTER TEACHERS), someone answering to the question-Do you lie to your parents?- said -Of course!!-They lie about just everything: about school marks, where they do go, they hide relationships or bad friendship etc..
So teachers got to win the first prize, while teens do not use to lie to their friends, except of white lies..Finally they confessed to prefer a truthfull relationship with their own partner.
Let's pretend it to be true..

75% of the interviewees seem to have solid values and to believe in friendship, so they declare not to be able to injure their friend or, at least, they had the common sense not to say it in front of their friends..

75% of the interviewees seem to have solid values and to believe in friendship, so they declare not to be able to injure their friend or, at least, they had the common sense not to say it in front of their friends..
Beside 25% do not believe in friendship and they say it wouldn't be worth to sacrifice themselves for an hypotetical friend.
It's quite clear that most of teens do not feel guilty over lies.. and actually is rather useless to cry over spilt milk or weep crocodile tears..Should we interpret it as a wish to change or simply as a regret that disappear at the next day's dawn?...
Let's sum up
PEOPLE JUDGE THEMSELVES:

TEACHERS
Talking about Honesty just a little part of teacher state to be honest to their pupils, because it's a part of their personality..But almost 80% declare to be not able to be completely honest because of several causes: someone is afraid to be disappointed by others' behaviour, one said that
encourages his pupils pretending to be satisfied with their works also when he's not.
A graph about teachers' naivety is avoidable because everybody is to be considered absolutely naive towards his pupils.

Someone said that hopefully he is not, but he actually is. Someone else admitted it and that is bitterly sad to be continuously disappointed and angry at their pupils, after he trusts them.
In spite of being quite sorry of the results and of the unreliability of their students, very seldom teachers would like to change their way of teaching. This could mean they don't think that the problem is their way of teaching or something wrong they do,but it is the pupils' behaviour. This graph talks for itself..That 17% thinks that betrayed is too much, they prefer to consider students' lies as little excuses, so they can't feel betrayed but merely they were pulling their legs..
Surprisingly only one interviewed teacher said he' s not a liar, while the other ones judge themselves pretty good liars, explaining that sometimes it's necessary for diplomatic reasons.. which made us laugh.. but the most unexpected answer was: "lying nowadays is the driving force of life!!!"
Senior citizens
It is very important to explain the reason why we did chose this specific category and it is that we wanted to work out an outcoming of their lives.
We are sorry we could't interview enough people belonging to this category, to make any graph or statistic. Becouse of this we are obliged to report merely the answers of the interview.
Liar=no Honest=yes Naive=no
No (But it's human!) May be you don't know me..
Yes, I've hidden many things to my parents, I must confess..
I prefer much more the way I'm now rather than before, because when one lies always runs the risk of being found out..
First of all is important to be honest towards ourselves because otherway you cannot be honest toward other people.Lies aren't to be said
I think I've never done anything dishonest..well...speeding by car..
Not at all.Dishonest people go to jail.
Of course they're not the same! Look at map on the dictionary!
Senior citizens
Liar? No
We might be satisfied if we forgot the beginning.. but it has been such an interesting experience and
we're just looking forward to doing it again!!

What an interesting questionnaire. These questionas are quite deep and may be relaly difficult for people to answer, but it's no excuse for being rude and unfriendly when you tried to ask questions.
But what did the family say? And what did the Chilean boys say? You've put down the questions but not what you were found out!!

hi girls
i think you may have put in the wrong questionnaires on this blog entry- you only need the street interview questions here as this is what you are talking about. The other questionnaires can go in a different blog entry.
