An important interview for our project was the one to the academic Dr Martin Potter, who we met on Thursday in the students' room. We wanted to ask him many questions about Pinocchio and the main themes of this fairy tale, but, in his interesting introduction, he answered most of them before we asked them! So,while Egidio was recording,we had to think about other questions. He talked about differences and similarities between people and machines, quoting several fairy tales from different cultures.
The discussion became more interesting when Martin told us that many people would like to be machines to not know the difference between good and evil and so to have an easier life, but machines haven't feelings, so it wouldn't be a real life ( and we agree with him...).
This experience has been very relevant for our project because Martin gave us another possible interpretation of Pinocchio's tale linked to the other fairy tales from different centuries.

Interesting to see that differnet people can interpret a children's story in different ways.
Do you think you would like to be a machine and not have a conscience?
